What days?
Any suggestions for something traditional?
I like to give my husband one big gift on the first night, and smaller gifts each night, I do give him gelt, the little gold coin chocolates, and just small unique things, I have fun finding really fun things for him and I like to make him his favorite recipes from his mom. like kasha varnishes, noodle kugel, flanken or matzo ball soup

Hannukah begins Dec. 21 and ends Dec 29th this year. Traditionally, small gifts are given to the children on each day. In the past the gifts were "gelt" or money. Gold coins to be exact. But now in modern times, because parents don’t want their children to feel "left out" by not getting gifts at Christmas, Jewish parents give gifts instead of cash.
A very nice gift for your boyfriend would be a gold coin. Or maybe a coin made into a necklace. He’d love that and would appreicate the sentiment behind such a gift.

More traditional would be less gifts. This isn’t Christmas, remember. We don’t typically require gifts.

happy bein’ Jewish
That’s very sweet to think of giving him eight presents. But it’s really not necessary. Just one on the first night would be fine. The whole "eight presents" thing is more for kids. If I were him, I’d just appreciate getting a gift from a non-Jewish person on the first night of Hanukkah, instead of on Christmas (as if I celebrated it).
